Mission eQuilt

Our mission is to promote civil discourse through our digital “people’s quilt” -- a participatory, visual arts listening campaign using social media to illustrate the diversity of viewpoints co-existing respectfully with each other.

Through fashion and art, the participant answers the question “What is your march?” within an individually designed quilt square. The question is posed to provoke independent reflection and critical thought, and ultimately to personalize one’s own march.

As a collective whole, the quilt aspires to serve as a cultural counter-weight and clarion to the current socio-political environment that has become polarized and shaped by “group think.”

4) Policy

  • We welcome diverse viewpoints.  However, no hating is allowed.

  • We reserve the right to exclude certain submissions that we consider to be detractions from our mission.

TIPS: How to overlay text… and make it look cool

To achieve that artsy, magazine look in no time flat, here are some easy-to-use apps for overlaying text:

  • Font Candy (free)

  • Pic Lab (free)

  • Word Swag

Keep your text simple and easy-to-read (hint: BIG!)

For the sophisticated users:

  • You know what to do.  Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. are great tools for the die-hards.

If all else fails:

  • Email your image and suggested text to:  info@demusedesigns.com

  • Have patience as it might take us longer to process.
